Greetings and Happy New Year Athletes and Parents,
We are very excited for what 2013 holds for the Pure Talent Elite Track and Field Club. Last year I felt moved to begin thinking about starting a track and field program. It isn't like there is a shortage of programs in the Kansas City area. There are teams and programs that have been doing well for quite some time. The vision came due to wanting to do more than just coach track and field but develop the whole athlete. As a former educator and one who currently works with numerous students across different school districts I felt I could add another touch. I see students missing leadership qualities. There are countless numbers of students not reading at their grade levels. ACT scores averaging 16. We see many students who can talk very loud among friends but clam up when asked to speak in front of a group. These are among many things we look to improve on at Pure Talent Elite.
We hope you are willing to take this journey with us! I look forward to working with many of you I've gotten to know over the last year as well as the many new athletes and parents who will join us. It should be a great year! Our track goals are to develop strong work ethics, improve in personal records, and get as many athletes to nationals as possible. I am truly confident that the staff currently being assembled will allow our athletes to achieve these goals. Please continue to visit not only this website but our facebook page for upcoming information. Our first parent meeting will take place near the end of February. If your kids are not running indoor track, please start getting them running 15 minutes a day, 3 times a week. Also they should begin stretching the same amount of time. I will post workouts and drills they can start doing on their own on this blog. If you have any questions feel free to use the contact page. Again, thank you for coming to our website and best wishes to a great 2013.
